AIDA, the technology company of the Domingo Alonso Group, recently visited the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to give a talk on the software life cycle in a real environment and current career opportunities.
The event took place within the subject of “software project management”, the first subject taught entirely in English at the School of Computer Engineering. Students of the subject had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the software life cycle, project management methodologies and current career opportunities in the field of technology.
During the talk, Borja Suárez Ojeda, head of projects and consultancy at AIDA, shared his experience in the sector, explaining how the company approaches the software lifecycle in its projects. He also discussed the skills students will need to succeed in the technology field and how they can prepare for a career in the sector.
The students were able to ask questions and participate in a debate on current challenges and opportunities in software project management. For most of them, this was a unique opportunity to learn first-hand about the reality of the sector and the demands of the job market.
This visit to the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a further step in the collaboration between companies and universities to promote the training of future professionals in strategic areas such as software project management and the development of local talent.
